Dockers and Malbon Golf Look Back to the ’80s in New Collaboration

Dockers and Malbon Golf looked back to the ’80s to revive fashion inspo from the fairway in a new collaboration that released May 10. Along with some modern upgrades, the Dockers x Malbon Golf collection offers lightweight, Cali-cool style for sleek moments on the green or street-side. Included in the lineup are the tapered fit Original Chino and Chore Coat; khaki hemp twill Overall; a golf-inspired Playa Short; a washable merino Sweater Polo in khaki or mint green; and a knit Pique Polo shirt in white or navy.

Dockers’ global head of design Nick Rendic said energetic collection took inspiration from the golf stars who dressed themselves without regulating their wardrobes from sponsors. “Back in those days, professional golfers had a specific kind of aesthetic, it was really about personal style and taste,” Rendic explained, adding that he and Malbon Golf founder Stephen Malbon interpreted some of those styling cues. “And so, what we wanted to do is lean into the legacy of Dockers, which, really celebrates khaki, and then infuse some nice colors like the frosted green. And then, of course, with the branding that we’ve done, like have a little bit of fun incorporating each of the logos.”

The Dockers x Malbon Golf collection ($98-$200) is available at Dockers.com, Malbongolf.com, American Rag, Augustine and Hypegolf.
