Swedish fashion brand Our Legacy and Italian footwear company ROA have just collaborated for the third time and the resulting product is available now, but it may not last long.

Released under Our Legacy’s Work Shop banner — which focuses on upcycling and is home to many of the label’s collaborations — is the ROA Andreas boot. The Andreas is ROA’s flagship boot and boasts a beefy Vibram Megagrip sole with a rubberized toe cap. It’s described by the brand as a “hybrid boot” which is equipped to tackle Italy’s Dolomite mountains while also looking casual enough for fashionable city wear.

For this collaboration, Our Legacy Work Shop stayed true to its reuse ethos by sourcing premium Vachetta leather from Sweden’s Tärnsjö Garveri factory. Specifically, the boots are constructed with residual tannery offcuts or in other words, scraps that would be otherwise discarded if not for the collab.

The repurposed leather was then treated to a traditional vegetable tanning process to prepare it for use, but the brands left any natural imperfections in place to give each boot its own character — an example of which can be seen on the brown leather texture below. Available in brown and black leather colorways, both styles are designed to develop unique patinas over time.

Our Legacy Work Shop’s signature yin-yang logo is embroidered on the lateral side while the right and left tongues are stamped with the words “work” and “shop,” respectively. ROA’s logo appears at the lateral toe and medial heel as well as the tongue. Both pairs come with black-and-white hiking-style shoelaces and are also packaged with alternate orange laces.

The Our Legacy x ROA Andreas boot is available now from roa-hiking.com, ourlegacy.com, Our Legacy stores, Slam Jam stores and Dover Street Market’s London and Ginza locations. The boot retails for $630 and is beginning to sell out in select sizes.

In honor of Zappos’ 25th birthday, the retailer has teamed up with UGG to release the final assortment of the brand’s original Bailey Button II boots. Just in time for the winter’s coldest months and just ahead of the gift giving holiday season, UGG fans will be able to get their hands on the beloved boots again.

For a limited time only, the fan-favorite sheepskin boots will be available on Zappos.com while supplies last. Shoppers can choose from the classic chestnut brown and black colorways. The boots are also available in size options for kids and adults.

Yes, you read the headline correctly: Hoka has created a trail running shoe with pizza and tacos on the outsole.

The Mafate was the first Hoka shoe that ever hit the market, and next year, the brand will release its latest shoe bearing the name. Arriving in May 2025 is the Hoka Mafate X, a trail-ready shoe that will retail for $225.

Sure, the Mafate X is loaded with tech and is built for long haul trail efforts. But the coolest part of the shoe are its outsoles.

While at The Running Event (TRE) trade show and conference in Austin, Texas last week, Hoka revealed details about the upcoming Mafate X release. The brand stated Sean Denniston, the designer of the shoe, added smiling tacos at the forefoot of the outsoles because the wearer is moving forward and sad face tacos on the heel because they are braking. Denniston, who the senior designer for trail at Hoka, also added pizza slices positioned like arrows pointing forward at the forefoot between the smiling tacos.

Aside from the tacos and pizza, the Mafate X is replete with modern tech. For instance, the shoe’s outsoles are made with Vibram’s Megagrip compound, and it also features a carbon fiber plate, supercritical EVA foam underfoot and a PEBA drop in that sits atop the carbon plate. As for the uppers, Hoka stated they are breathable and were designed to “drain nicely.”

Hoka confirmed it will launch the Mafate X in two colorways for the spring and then more in the fall. Also, the brand stated consumers can expect more surprises like the tacos and pizza on the outsoles in the future.

A man named Doogie Lish Sandtiger holds the title for having the world’s largest collection of Crocs.

The Connecticut-based social worker shared the thousands of pairs he has amassed in a segment on NBC’s “Today” show. Speaking with reporter Kathy Park, he revealed that growing up in the foster care system and not learning how to tie his shoes led to his enthusiasm for Crocs. Bullies would make fun of Sandtiger for wearing velcro shoes before he started collecting the iconic rubber clogs in high school.

Speaking about his love for the brand, he told Park, “One of their mottos is, ‘Come as you are’ and I love that. Be authentic. Be yourself.”

Entering the footwear space two decades ago, the comfort shoe company has sold over 125 million pairs in the past year alone and has collaborated with high fashion brands like Balenciaga, as well as artists such as Justin Bieber and Post Malone.

Sandtiger owns close to 4,000 pairs (3,577 to be exact), including some exclusive styles. The most expensive pair he owns is Crocs’ collaboration with Japanese artist Takashi Murakami. He picked up the colorful clogs for $3,600. He also owns the Balenciaga x Crocs rain boots and platform clogs.

Throughout the interview, he wears the cartoonish Crocs x MSCHF boots. The collaboration saw the Brooklyn design studios’ viral Big Red Boot given a Crocs makeover with a bright yellow colorway and the brand’s signature design details.

“On a given day, sometimes I’ll wear like 5-6 pairs of different Crocs,” Sandtiger told Park, who borrowed a pair of platform clogs featuring nostalgic Lisa Frank artwork. He also showed off an outrageous collaboration with Kentucky Fried Chicken, which came with fried chicken Jibbitz charms that smelled like chicken.

Santiger’s impressive (and growing) collection has earned him the nickname “Croc King” online. “The goal is to keep collecting and eventually submit to Guinness and get that world record total.” You can follow him on Instagram, where he has over 20,000 followers.

Timberland has released a range of boots that are as rich and bold as the hue that adorns their uppers.

Available now via Timberland.com is the Leather Espresso Collection, a lineup including six of Timberland’s most revered models, fresh for fall 2024. The collection is available in junior, women’s and men’s sizing, and ranges in price from $110 to $260.

Each of the Timberland Leather Espresso Collection looks feature uppers dressed in premium dark brown, full-grain pebbled-texture leather. Also, they all feature comfort-focused padded leather collars, 200g of Primaloft insulation and seam-sealed waterproof construction. To elevate the aesthetics, Timberland also employed gold accents and metal hardware throughout.

The highlight of the collection is the men’s 8-Inch Super Boot, one of Timberland’s undeniable icons, which was produced in limited numbers. Retail price is set at $260.

The collection also features the classic 6-Inch Lace-Up Waterproof Boot in junior ($110), women’s ($170) and men’s ($198) sizing.

For men, Timberland has released the 1973 Newman Waterproof Chukka Boot ($140) and the Waterproof Chukka Boot for men ($160). And for women, the Stone Street Platform Waterproof Chukka ($140) and the Stone Street 6-Inch Lace-Up Waterproof Boot ($160) are available.

Aside from Timberland.com, the Timberland Leather Espresso Collection is also available in Timberland stores and at select retailers globally.

Sperry is at it again with another collaboration – this time teaming up with Tampa Bay menswear boutique Fresh Rags to reimagine its signature boat shoe.

According to the footwear brand, the duo have reinterpreted the Sperry Authentic Original 2-Eye model in two limited-edition colorways that take inspiration from the legend of a prosperous pirate raid.

The “Sperry by Fresh Rags Gulfstar A/O 2-Eye” is constructed with an off-black, synthetic stingray embossed leather stitched together with a soft suede upper. The midsole is protected with mudguard paneling attached to a Vibram sawtooth outsole. And the style is complete with custom finished touches, including cross-stitched panels, tortoise shell eyelets, a Jolly Roger woven label concealing a debossed Fresh Rags and Sperry lockup, and gold doubloon stamped on the heel counter.

The contrasting “Sperry by Fresh Rags Harbor Ray A/O 2-Eye” is constructed of a blend of light tan synthetic stingray embossed leathers, designed to look like sun-bleached hide. Gold eyelets and trimming throughout the shoe, a striped seersucker inner lining, and lug Vibram outsole elevate the classic 2-Eye boat shoe silhouette.

The unisex shoes are available in sizes 4 through 14 and retail for $150. Alongside the shoes, Fresh Rags will release a limited-edition apparel and accessories collection, available exclusively in-store and online at Freshragsfl.com.

Michael Bickel, founder of Fresh Rags, said in a statement that the collection was inspired by the idea of creating a narrative that nods to his hometown of Tampa Bay, in a cheeky way, of course. “The story was translated through meticulous design details,” Bickel said. “From the tortoise shell eyelets to custom branded doubloons, every element of these shoes have been personalized according to our vision.”

“Sperry and Fresh Rags are both coastal-born brands, but there is a high level of aesthetic juxtaposition between the two that allowed us to create something truly new for both brands,” Jonathan Frankel, president of Sperry, added. “As we transition into Fall, this fresh take on our Authentic Original shows boat shoes are not just seasonal, but can be styled year round.”

This is the latest collaboration for Sperry in recent months. In August, Sperry served up a tennis-inspired shoe collection with Copenhagen-based menswear label Palmes just in time for the US Open.

And in June, the footwear brand showcased its newest collection with Japanese clothing brand Beams Plus at a special event during Paris Fashion Week Men’s.

In May, Sperry released two more shoe collabs. The first one with menswear designer Todd Snyder saw an update to the brand’s signature Authentic Original boat shoe. Weeks later, boutique retailer Concepts reimaged the same signature silhouette from Sperry in five colorways.

These collaborations come several months after Sperry was acquired by brand management firm Authentic Brands Group in January. At the same time, the brand management firm inked a deal with the Aldo Group to serve as Sperry’s North American operating partner for wholesale, e-commerce and store operations, as well as the brand’s partner for footwear design, production and distribution globally.

Jason Kelce’s “College GameDay” field goal attempt in Timberland boots missed the mark completely on Saturday, but the outdoor footwear manufacturer and parent company VF Corporation are still doubling down on their original pledge to make a huge donation to Hurricane Helene relief.

After weeks of teasing his Timberland-equipped kick, Kelce made his “College GameDay” appearance Saturday ahead of No. 3 Penn State’s home game against the No. 4 Ohio State Buckeyes.

Going into the event, Vans (which is also owned by VF Corp.) challenged Kelce to compete in Pat McAfee’s weekly field goal challenge while wearing the classic Timberland 6-inch wheat boot

The brand put $100,000 on the line for disaster relief in the wake of Hurricane Helene, following up on October’s viral moment when University of California, Berkeley student Daniel Villasenor made a “College GameDay” field goal while wearing Vans Slip-On sneakers

Villasenor won $100,000 for himself while raising a total of $600,000 in relief funds, and Vans and the student continued the philanthropy by challenging Kelce to duplicate the feat in Timberlands.

It all culminated in Kelce’s Saturday attempts, the first of which sailed far left of the uprights. Vans and Timberland then upped the ante to $200,000 for a second-chance kick. That kick, too, traveled left of its destination, resulting in ridicule from McAfee and his co-hosts.

But the story didn’t end there. In a follow-up post on X, McAfee stated the show will still donate $200,000 to the hurricane relief efforts with Vans and Timberland donating an additional $200,000. 

What’s more, Timberland is getting viewers involved in the action. A campaign was announced in which fans are challenged to post their own (successful or unsuccessful) field goal attempts while wearing Timberland boots while using the hashtag #kickitforward. The brand will then add to its donation total an additional $100 for each of the first 1,000 entries.

Danner and Madhappy have come together on a new footwear collaboration.

According to the Pacific Northwest-based heritage boot brand, it has teamed up with the Los Angeles-based lifestyle brand on two colorways of Danner’s signature Mountain Light boot.

For this tie-up, the boot is created with a durable suede and is available in a chestnut and punch pink color in men’s and women’s sizing. Danner noted in a release on Friday that every pair of its Mountain Light boots are built in Portland, Ore., using its one-piece leather design to eliminate openings in the tongue area to help keep out debris and water.

Plus, each pair features Danner’s stitchdown construction to offer increased stability underfoot paired with a classic look. The style also features Vibram Kletterlift outsoles and waterproof Gore-Tex liners.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Madhappy to infuse their flare into a classic like our Mountain Light boot,” Yoji Kaneda, lifestyle director for Danner Footwear, said in a statement. “From trail to town, these boots are both as functional and stylish as it gets. Grab a pair before they’re gone.”

Noah Raf, cofounder of Madhappy, added that this collaboration makes sense since the brand has “always found natural synergy with durable products intended for outdoor use.”

“We were thrilled to partner with the Danner team to create our own iteration of such an iconic boot that’s built for getting outside – whether that’s on a hike in nature or in an urban environment,” Raf said.

This launch comes just days after Danner released a variation of the Light II boot with Snow Peak. The Light II, a classic Danner style, features a waterproof Gore-Tex liner, Vibram Megagrip outsole, and a fire-resistant leather upper, with a Snow Peak logo on the heel and a metal lace guard. Other past collaborations include Danner’s tie-up with Patta, Ball and Buck, Huckberry and Filson.

This isn’t the first shoe collaboration for Madhappy, either. The fashion brand has previously worked with Vans and Ugg.

The Madhappy and Danner Mountain Light boot, which retails for $440, is now available at Madhappy.com and Danner.com.
